Why Yolo County Residents Choose Almond Firewood

Yolo County's Sacramento Valley climate brings cold, foggy winters with tule fog that can settle in for days — making quality firewood essential for comfortable living. Almond wood is one of California's densest hardwoods, burning hot and long with minimal smoke and a mild, pleasant aroma. It's sourced from the same California almond orchards that thrive throughout the Valley's rich agricultural landscape.

In Davis — home to UC Davis and one of California's most vibrant college towns — residents and faculty alike rely on almond firewood for indoor fireplaces and outdoor fire pits through the cold Valley winters. Woodland, Yolo County's seat and an important agricultural hub, is a popular delivery destination for homeowners stocking up for the full season. West Sacramento, just across the river from the state capital, has seen rapid growth in recent years and is one of our most active delivery areas in the county — with residents enjoying almond wood for both indoor fireplaces and backyard entertaining along the Sacramento River waterfront. Winters, nestled in the foothills at the edge of the Coast Range, is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and orchards — a natural fit for almond wood's clean, premium burn for outdoor fire features and wood-fired cooking. Clarksburg, in the heart of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta wine region, rounds out our Yolo County delivery area with a unique agricultural and wine country character all its own. Esparto, in the western Capay Valley, serves rural homeowners and ranchers who stock up with a full cord for the winter.
